Christmas & Trains takes you back to those carefree days of our youth when all that mattered was getting those presents open as our favorite train ran around the base of the Christmas Tree. Somewhere under all that wrapping paper was your little sister and the dog.

Join us for a step back to those days once again...

Part of the annual Ocean Grove NJ Victorian Holiday Festival, the famous Christmas & Trains display delights thousands each year as they visit the incredible Towne-wide holiday celebration. All scales and gauges are represented in an incredible display of model railroading, both toy and incredibly detailed miniature model railroad worlds.

For 2003 the Ocean Grove Victorian Holiday Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 13 & 14. Christmas & Trains can be found as always in the Community Room on Pilgrim Pathway between Main Avenue and The Great Auditorium. The model train show is FREE (donations accepted). Show times are 11 - 5 Saturday and 12 - 4 Sunday.

The show is hosted by three generations of the Crawford Family of Neptune NJ. Featured display operators are the Jersey Central N-Trak model railroad club of Tinton Falls NJ with their incredible modular N-scale layout that is literally unlimited in size, and Thor Sheil of Freehold NJ, aka ThorTrains, a renowned collector of classic toy trains from Lionel to Marx.

Featured are N scale, HO scale, O and 0-27 scale, and G scale trains and displays as well as Victorian Holiday decorations. Also featured is a "touch table" for those visitors who just can't seem to leave things alone.

The model train around the Christmas Tree was born out of necessity, mainly to keep big clumsy feet, dogs, and bikes that Mom told us not to ride in the house off the little tracks.

In the days before World War One gifts were not wrapped, but assembled and set up before the kids roared out of bed. (Poor Dad). The size of the model train trackage made it impossible to place anywhere else without being subject to all sorts of destructive traffic. Thus was born a tradition!
